Toy train with engine and two cars. Wood wrapped with chromolithographic paper. "M.K.T. Flyer" on the engine and "Lincoln Park Railroad" on the cars. Cars have removable tops and contain animal blocks. Given as a Christmas present to Irwin E. Smith (1893-1978) by his mother in 1896. Irwin was three years old at the time, and was living on a farm near Labette, Kansas with his widowed mother and two sisters. The MKT Railway ran about a mile from the farm. Made by the R.
