Dark peach silk wedding dress consisting of a bodice and a separate full skirt (not pictured). The bodice has a tall, lace-trimmed collar and leg o'mutton sleeves, which were fashionable during this period. Ida May Giddens (1875-1957) of Gypsum, Kansas, wore this dress when she married Charles Curtis Carey (1869-1933) of Emporia on April 8, 1896. The ceremony took place at the Methodist Church in Gypsum. Ida and Charles lived most of their married life in central Kansas, primarily in Peabody and Winfield.
