Here are four photographs showing Rita (Henry) Fienhage (July 31, 1922-June 11, 1987) at different ages. Rita was born July 31, 1922 in Axtell, Kansas, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (Kelly) Henry. She was the oldest of eleven children and her siblings were Eileen, Betty, Mary, James, Norma, Arlen, Cecil, Damian, Sonja, and Nick. Rita married Wilfred (Bill) Fienhage on January 31, 1946 in Topeka, Kansas. Two months later, Bill reported for duty in Japan, where Rita joined him until February 1949. Their first daughter, Carolyn, was born in Japan. After his tour, Rita and Bill were stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Diane, Jean, and Bill were born. The last year of Bill's service was spent in Aberdeen, Maryland where Bill retired in 1956. The family then moved to a farm near Elkland, Missouri where they lived for two years. The two youngest children, Mary and John, were born in Missouri. Next they moved to Axtell, Kansas, where they raised their six children. In 1969, Rita and Bill purchased the Royal Motel in Seneca which Rita managed. Rita died at the age of 64 on June 11, 1987.
