Boats have great difficulty in makeing a Landing at all. & that being the fact Quindaro must rise I understand that Col. Parks has you enough subscribe to graph the Parkvill & Gran River Rail Road. & now is East to get the remain Stock which he was to have providing he could get enough taken here to [xxx] it. wich was done without difficulty & it will not be long I think before they will have the contract let

to have the Road Graded. Thare is more building being her now than has been at any other time & a great prospect of having a great many more built before cold weather. our building will be all finish this weeak ready for occupancy. & I can get some one in it just as quick as it is ready I think. I have two Gentleman after it if one does not take it the other will. So I will be able to have it occupied as soon as finish. it will be used as a boarding house for the present. a Boarding House is needed most here now the price of the rent is not fuly diseded yet I have thought of renting it for the rate of Seven Hundred till first of April. & then rents will be higher next summer.
Mr Hill I suppose Mr Guthrine would like the other Four Hundred I have not got it from him had I it I should not be willing to pay any more till after the streets are Graded. They have not fulfill thare agreement consider myself under no obbligations to pay the Four hundred had I it. but trust I shall get it before this Fall is and for I can Earn it nearly in that time, after I get my house done. I shall have some besides paying you the plastering I think. I can manage some way to get along.
