This silent film depicts passenger service in the 1870s and 1950s. The first part is staged using the "Cyrus K. Holiday" steam locomotive. The second part shows one of the streamlined Pullman chair cars of the 1950s. The film also shows a lineup of locomotive power for 1950s ATSF Railway: Cyrus K. Holiday #1, Blue Goose #3460, freight steam locomotive, freight diesel locomotive and passenger diesel #336.
