A group portrait of students with their teacher, Joshie Burton, at a school two miles south of White City in Morris County, Kansas. Fifty-two students attended the school. The boy with an "X" marked above his head is Sam Golden, nine years old and in third grade. Other students include Loula Golden, Lyda Griffith, May [?], Lou Mohlnex, Beckee Ohmen, Clara Plummer, Anna Trees, Lucy Troiswell, Ira and Elmer Turner, Daisy and Maude Walker, and members of the Bowser, Burton, Clark, Crocker, Funk and Hallmark families.
