This is a photograph of William Izott Mitchell who lived in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. He was born September 11, 1873 on the family farm located three miles east of Wabaunsee, Kansas. His parents were Captain William Mitchell and Mary A. Chamberlain Mitchell. His father came to Kansas with the Connecticut Kansas Colony, better known as the Beecher Bible and Rifle Company, and settled the town of Wabaunsee in 1856.
