Here are four photographs of Mahan-Tarr #1 oil well located in Medicine Lodge field in Barber County, Kansas. It was drilled and leased by Purcell-Mull Drilling Company, Wichita, Kansas. The well is on land owned by Mrs. T. C. Mahan of Coldwater and her sister Mrs. Sewell Tarr of Huntsville, Arkansas who inherited the land from their father Frank Markham.
