Sybil poses next to a pool wearing a bathing suit and bathing cap. In 1917 James C. Hughes was Captain of Battery C, 130th Field Artillery, Kansas National Guard. He was stationed at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma, for field artillery training. At this time Hughes took five photos of himself and friends in bathing suits. This woman is identified only by her first name. The photograph was possibly taken around Camp Doniphan. A full biography of James Clark Hughes is available on Kansapedia.
