This photograph is an interior view of the Kansas Leader newspaper plant located in Salina, Kansas. It shows two men operating a printing press, two men standing at a table and a fifth man standing on a platform in the back of the room. The Kansas Leader began in Ellsworth, Kansas in 1919 under the editorship of M.L. Amos. The plant moved to Salina in November 1920. It was a cooperative farmers' newspaper representing 180 farmers in 12 Kansas counties and had a subscriber list of 2500 people.
