These two ceramic handle sherds were recovered from the Saxman site in Rice County and donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2016. These handles were attached using rivets made of clay, and created by inserting a portion of the handle into a hole in the pot and then smoothing over the interior. The smaller loop handle shows that portion that would have been inserted into the pot. The larger sherd shows two rivet scars on the interior. The Saxman site, a large Great Bend aspect village, was occupied by the ancestral Wichita.
