This photograph shows inmates Gottlieb Kottke, prisoner #9529 and Bert Sturm, prisoner #9516. Gottlieb Kottke was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on November 5, 1900 from Sedgwick County, Kansas for assault with intent to commit murder. Bert Sturm, also known as A.D.B. Sturm, was received at the penitentiary on october 31, 1900 from Republic County, Kansas for larceny. He was sentenced on October 6, 1900.
