This photograph shows inmate Richard Williams, prisoner 9097. He was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on November 2, 1899 from Wabaunsee County, Kansas for murder. Richard Williams is also documented as Unit ID 311662 by the penitentiary ledger. It is unclear if this was a mistake or intentional because the men in the two photographs is different.
