Matthew Riley was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on November 30, 1899 from Montgomery County, Kansas for grand larceny. James Gott, also known by the surname spelling Gatt, was received at the penitentiary on January 31, 1898 from Cherokee County, Kansas for murder.
