This photograph shows inmates J. W. Ryan, prisoner #9564 and Chas Macklin, prisoner #8657. J.W. Ryan was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on November 26, 1900 from Osage County, Kansas. Inmate Chas Macklin, also known by the surname Macklen, was received at the penitentiary on October 6, 1898 from Shawnee County, Kansas. Both men were arrested for larceny.
