This photograph shows inmates Robert Shelton, 8446, and A. Venneck, 9441. Robert Shelton was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on February 12, 1898 from Wilson County, Kansas. A. Venneck, also known by the surnames Vennacle and Fanneck, was received at the penitentiary on July 7, 1900 from Wyandotte County, Kansas. Both men were arrested for rape.
