This photograph shows inmates Joe Bruner, prisoner #6855 and S. B. Spradley, prisoner #9460. Joe Bruner, also known by the surname spelling Brunner, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on March 13, 1894 from Wyandotte County, Kansas for burglary, larceny, and larceny in a dwelling house. Inmate S.B. Spradley was received at the penitentiary on July 27, 1900 from Anderson County, Kansas for assault with intent to kill.
