This photograph shows inmate Geo. Murphy, prisoner #8435 and John Rogers, prisoner #2767. Geo. Murphy, also known as Geo. Phillips, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on February 8, 1898 from Leavenworth County, Kansas. John Rogers was received at the penitentiary on September 29, 1882 from Bourbon County, Kansas. Both men were arrested for murder.
