This photograph shows inmates Chas Jackson, prisoner #8619 and James Murphy, prisoner #9425. Chas Jackson was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on July 23, 1898 from Sedgwick County, Kansas. Inmate James Murphy was received at the penitentiary on June 23, 1900 from Marshall County, Kansas. Both men were arrested for burglary and larceny.
