This photograph shows inmates George Grathe, prisoner #8672 and Ed Peterson, prisoner #9420. George Grathe, also known by the surnames Growthe and Grawthe, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on October 11, 1898 from Baine County, Oklahoma for larceny of domestic animals. Ed Peterson was received at the penitentiary on June 15, 1900 from Pawnee County, Oklahoma for assault with a dangerous weapon.
