This photograph shows inmates John Steward, prisoner #9380 and C. W. Hunting, prisoner #8022. John Steward, also known by the surname Stewart, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on May 27, 1900 from Sedgwick County, Kansas for burglary and larceny. He was sentenced on May 16, 1900. C.W. Hunting was received at the penitentiary on February 12, 1897 from Graham County, Kansas for assault with the intent to rape.
