This is John Holt's scrapbook containing photographs and printed materials collected during his military service. In June 1957, John had the choice of either enlisting or being drafted, so he decided to enlisted in the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers. At the time he enlisted, he was married and had two daughters. He entered the Army on June 11, 1957 in Kansas City, Kansas; basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana, June 1957-August 1957; advanced training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, August 1957-November 1957; duty station, Fort Hood, Texas November 1957-May1958; Far East Command Korea May 1958-May 1959; D Battery, 3rd Mal Battalion(NH) 67th Artillery Waukesha, Wisconsin, May 1959-June 1960; discharged from active duty June 10, 1960 and discharged from the Army Reserves June 1963. Also included in the scrapbook, is an oral interview conducted by Erin Trimble on April 1, 2004.
