This photograph shows a Native American greeting a steam locomotive. The illustration is a preliminary sketch created by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company for an advertisement poster called "The Meeting of the Chiefs". In the 1949 poster a diesel locomotive is featured instead of a steam locomotive.
