Dear Sir - your answer is before me - thank you for this courtesy in promptly and kindly answering my letter.

 

I wrote you because I am deeply interested in the reform proposed for Kansas - and knowing this Lecture and the power of its author in its delivery - I do not believe there is now in our State a speaker who will do more good - it is a most searching handling of facts, out of present legislation showing what would come if

making thorough Temperance a condition of Eligibility to positions of Public Trust.  I heard this effort 1st at Mount Carroll Ill - The home of Hon. Jas. Shaw, Speaker of Ill. House of Reprs - who introduced Mrs W -

 

I have procured some of her press notices & will enclose one that you may know I am not alone in my estimate of this Lecture.  The committee should have this lesson every where pronounced its a bold meritorious effort.

 

In conclusion allow me to congratulate you on having again been designated as the conventions choise -
