F. T. Ingalls to Governor John St. John

Item Description Bookbag Share

Atchison Kas

July 19.  80.

My Dear Governor:

Rev. Pardee Butler called on me on Sat. last in regard to a temperance rally in the county during the mo. of  Aug. at which you would be present.

I told him that I regretted that I should be away, so that I should not be able to further the project as I could wish.  but I hope that it will be pushed through, and that you will be present.  I have seen the Supt. of the Cen. Branch R.R. this am, and he will run an excursion out from Atchison if desired, and I have no doubt that the country people will turn out in good numbers, if the affair is worked up with due notice.

[Page 2]

The R.R. Supt.would like to have at least two weeks notice, and I hope that you will agree upon a date, in your correspondence with Rev. Pardee Butler, as soon as practicable.

Very truly

F. T. Ingalls

Hon J P. St. John

Topeka Kas.
