This is a transparency of the Kansas Pastoral showing a farmer and his wife. The murals were painted by John Steuart Curry and are on the second floor of the Kansas capitol. The murals are part of the Kansas Pastoral which is Curry's attempt at showing the romantic side of the agricultural state. In 1937, John Steuart Curry, from Dunavant in Jefferson County, Kansas, was selected to portray the story of Kansas in murals on the second floor of the capitol.
