This is a transparency showing the Hereford bull mural in the Kansas capitol, painted by John Steuart Curry. In 1937, Curry, from Dunavant in Jefferson County, Kansas, was selected to portray the story of Kansas in murals on the second floor of the capitol. The mural is part of the Kansas Pastoral which is Curry's attempt at showing the romantic side of the agricultural state.
