Dear Gov.

I understand through Bro Laurence our Pastor at North Topeka, that you will visit Jewell County about August 10.  Now I want to tell you the Program we want to make out for you.  We want you to speak at Jewell City - Wednesday Aug 11th at 11 oclock A.M.  Then in Beloit the same day at 8 P.M.  It is 15 miles from Jewell City to Beloit.  We will have a comfortable conveyance for you, and we can make

the drive with ease in time for supper.  Then we want you to be at Burr Oak in Jewell County the day before which will be Aug 10 to be present at the Corner Stone laying of our Church in Burr Oak.  We will not announce that you are coming to lay the Corner Stone, but that as you will be in Jewell Co at that time we will take advantage of your presince in the County to lay the Corner Stone, so you can be present and make us a speach.  If you do not want to speak on Tempernce at Burr Oak you can speak on Kansas its past, & future & etc.  In this way you can do us a world of good by drawing

a big crowd, and make hosts of friends for yourself in Jewell County, for some how you disarm prejudice & opposition where you meet the people.

The Programme then will be Burr Oak Aug 10th, 2 Oclock PM  Jewell City - Aug 11th, 11 Oclock AM Beloit Aug. 11th 8 Oclock P.M.

If you can spend the time we would like to have you in Beloit Aug. 12. 2 P.M. in place of Wednesday night, but we put it this way to save you time   You would leave Topeka Monday in time to get to Concordia by the Kansas Pacific Via Junction City, and remain in Concordia over night.  Tuesday you will take the Central Branch

at 7.34 AM and arrive at Burr Oak 11.45 A.M.  I will meet you somewhere on the route, before you get to Burr Oak.  You can then get home Thursday   I will have you provided  for at Concordia Monday night and you can see the leading men of Cloud Co there as I will have them posted of your coming.  You can make a Garfield speach there if you think best and I will see the arrangements are made.  Please dear Gov fill this Programme for us.  If you can do it telegraph me at Beloit at once to work it up.  If you can come better at some other time please let me know by return mail.
