Dear Uncle


In compliance with your request I take this opportunity of answering your letter dated Oct the 22  I was very glad to hear that Aunt Patsey was recovering.  Mrs Ammon Marshal and myself has been visiting her fathers and the natural Bridge last week I was very much pleased with it.  you wish to know about my studies I am doing tolerably well at the geography and grammar I have not began to [xxxxx] yet  the school will end on the last Friday in this month  Miss Hellen Bell is not in good health  I dont expect her to Teach this winter she has not determined.  Marshal has his jaws a good deal swelled with the Mumps  Except that we are both in good health  I would have written sooner But [xxxxx] Mr Dempsey to visit Greenbrier  I waited he has Declined his trip on account of his horse not being able to carry him


Marshal joins me his love to you and all the Family  I have nothing more at present but still [xxxxx]
