Gov. J.P. St. John

Topeka Ks.

Hon. Sir:  Will you address the people of this part of Osage Co. on the Temperance Issue at  some time during the next two or three weeks!  We have a good grove two miles from here, three from Carbondale, seven from Burlingame, and convenient to all the Dragoon and 110 creek country.  Perhaps Dr. Cooley has told you about our desire to have a Grand Rally soon.  Scranton has nearly 1000 people in it, Carbondale and Burlingame more; and the country is well

settled.  We very much hope you will come.  Set your own time, either on Sunday or week day, forenoon or afternoon, and let me know, and I will see that it is advertised in all the papers in the county, announced at the various Post Offices and Schools; and that good arrangements are provided at the grove

Hoping for an early reply I am

Respectfully yours

W. C. Howard

P.S. To save words - being a stranger - and to insure attention, I send this through  Hon. P.J. Bonebrake.
