In this letter, Kansas Governor St. John is asked by J. Bany, on behalf of the Women's Temperance Alliance of Cawker City, Kansas, to speak at at Temperance Convention in Osborn(e) "next week." If St. John is able to do that, the ladies of Cawker City would like him to speak at a temperance picnic either before or after St. John delivers his address at Osborn(e).
