Exterior view of Old Sumner School in Topeka, Kansas. The two story brick building, located near Fourth Street, was completed around 1901 with a capacity of eight classrooms. One of the first junior high classes began in this building in 1914, the same year a junior high class was created at the Quincy School. The Sumner Junior High classes continued until Roosevelt Junior High was built in 1926. In 1935, the Old Sumner School was replaced with a new two story brick building.
