Item Description Bookbag Share

Girard, Kansas,  July 20th  1880

To his Excellency Gov. St. John

Topeka Kans

Sr. Sir

It has been suggested to me by many that a Mass Temperance Convention be held at some central point in each County throughout the state for the purpose of organizing all the temperance forces to secure the triumphant adoption of the proposed amendment, and that you sign such call on behalf of the State Temperance union and myself on behalf of the Good Templars!  Should this meet with your approval please draw up such a call as you would approve and sign and return at your earliest convenieence with such suggestions as you deem best.

Very truly yours

L. Brown
