To his Excellency

Gov J.P. St John

Topeka Kan

Honored Sir

Your favor of the 2nd inst  subsequent papers received;  for which please accept grateful thanks - the points furnished are more than I had ever hoped for,

I have just received the copy of Golden Gate containing judge Thachers opinions,  it seems so clear & yet so convincing, that to me then is no room for doubt, the opinion by the way I find on examination is fully in accord with opinions of different Supreme Judges, Excuse a remark or two on the coming governorship.

in this section I believe that the masses inspection of party are earnestly wishing for the

nomination of J.P. St John as to what the result of the wire pulling will be we cannot tell - politics have become so complex that it is impossible to  foretell events

but rest assured Governor that whether you go into, or out of the Executive Mansion the coming term, you will carry with you wherever you go the hearts of the best people of Kansas

We think there is little doubt of the Amendment defeat but we believe also that vigilance only secures success we will therefore keep awake

Sincerely yours

A Crabb
