Hon. J.P. St John.

My Dear Governor.

I was informed last evening that Mr. Joseph Cook of Boston was coming to Kansas to help to "sustain her noble Governor," & to deliver some lectures.  If so & it is possible to have him come here we want him for two reasons.  1st to lecture on Temperance & 2nd to lecture on the "future of America", for the benefit of our church.

If you are aware whether he can be had or not, will you please inform ? me, and when ? & on what terms? & oblige

Your friend & Bro.  J. Cairns
