Burlingame, Kas., March 18th  1880.

Hon.  J. P. St. John:

Sir:  I have been requested by a committee of the Ladies Christian Temperance Union of this city, to write to you and ascertain from you on what day you will be here in the interest of Temperance.  Our President thought on the 24th inst. our paper published it as on the 3rd XX.  Also, to inquire if you would be willing to address a gathering of the children immediately upon your arrival, as we desire to organize a Band of Hope, and think an address from you would be an invaluable initiative.  If convenient, please answer at once that you may be properly advertised.
