Item Description Bookbag Share

Douglass, Kansas,  March 15  1880

Dear Gov.

I have been hoping to hear that you could come to Douglas and lecture on Temperance since you promised me in your last from early in the winter.  The people here are ripe for a lecture from you and will not "let up" until you come to Douglas.  You have many warm friends here and you know none warmer than myself.  I will meet you at Mulvane Junction or Winfield with conveyance any time you may designate and bring you to Douglas and take you back to R.R.  Let me hear from you,  Come and give us a talk.  Your friend

D. O. McCray
