This black and white photograph shows two officials from the Kansas Board of Agriculture, J.C. Mohler and Ted Yost, examining the effects of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid in a field southwest of Topeka, Kansas. 2, 4-D, as it was commonly called, was a pesticide/herbicide used to control boardleaf weeds. Mohler was the secretary of the Board of Agriculture.
