Item Description Bookbag Share

Leavenworth, Kan., Feb. 27, 1879

Gov. Jno. P. St. John,

Topeka, Kas.

My Dear Sir:

I have the honor to, herewith, transmit Petitions to the Legislature, recommending the passage of your amendment to the "Dramshop Act," gotten up under the auspices of the Youth's Temperance Alliance.  If these blanks had been sent to us in the first place; we would had a 1000 names of the best citizens in Leavenworth, and if we had known there was another bill before the Legislature, besides the "Bradley Bill" in time; we would have had a good many more, but where that failed we ceased our labers.  You will please present the Petitions to the Legislature, in accordance

with the request of the Alliance, and place us under renewed obligations.

Very truly Yours,

H.C. Fields
