William Turnbull was born in Clay County, Kentucky on May21st, 1896 and died at the Naval Hospital in Washington D.C. on April 10th, 1920. He was induced into service at Stockton, Kansas on Sept. 8th, 1917 and served in Co. I of the 353rd Inf. 89th Division in which company he served until wounded in one of the offensive of the 89th Div.. He returned to the United States as a casual and was Honorably discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa, On March 24th, 1919. H re-enlisted in the U.S.Navey at Dayton, Ohio on Dec. 25th, 1919 and saw service on the U.S.S. Utah until a short time before his death. His remains were returned to Stockton, Kanas for interrment.  (The one sitting in the enclosed photo is William Turnbull)
