This handbook was published for possible immigrants to Kansas. It encouraged agricultural settlement in Wilson County by extolling the virtues of this 'beautiful Verdigris and Fall River region of Southeastern Kansas" and providing "a fair picture of the education, social, commercial, industrial and professional life, railways, markets and rapid material progress of a splendid country."
