This volume includes copies of some outgoing letters sent by William Clark (of the Lewis and Clark Expedition) who served as Indian superintendent for the central superintendency from 1807 until his death in 1838. Many of these letters were sent to the Secretary of War, John H. Eaton and Lewis Cass, and United States Treasury Department.
