Two photographs of Josephine Elizabeth Yeager Holm, who was born on November 25, 1919 in Green, Kansas. She was the daughter of Joseph H. Yeager and Mable M. Murphy Yeager. Josephine graduated from Green High School and Kansas State College for Normal Training. She taught for four years in a rural school. On March 13, 1943, Josephine enlisted in the United States Coast Guard (SPARS), entered active service on June 11, 1943, and received basic training at Palm Beach, Florida. She served in New York and attained the rank of Storekeeper First Class. Josephine was discharged from service on May 17, 1946, and she returned to Kansas where she worked for Kansas Power and Light Company and John Morrell and Company. She married Harlan D. Holm and they had two sons.
