This black and white postcard shows the stockyard at the Kansas City, Missouri, stockyards. The facility established in 1871 along the Kansas River and the Kansas Pacific and Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks, became one of the leading livestock markets in the United States. The stockyards closed for business in October of 1999.
