Robot's legs and arms move when turned on. The Horikawa Company in Japan made this robot between 1959 and 1971. Japan dominated the production of toy robots after World War II. The Horikawa Company, who used the trade logo SH, was one of the most prolific makers of battery-operated toys such as this one. The U.S. "Space Race" to explore the solar system in the late 1950's to early 1970's generated huge public interest and a large market for space related products.
