This stereograph shows buildings at Fort Riley in Davis County, later Geary County, Kansas. Alexander Gardner visually documented the Union Pacific Railway, Eastern Division as it was being built across Kansas. Along with the a description of the stereograph, he would note the distance from St. Louis, Missouri. It is from Alexander Gardner's series, Across the Continent on the Union Pacific Railway, Eastern Division.
