Fred Crafts operated drugstores in Alma after moving there in 1875. In 1879, he was appointed postmaster. He partnered with J.F. Limerick to construct this limestone building in 1890. His drugstore is seen here, located at 320 Missouri Street. The Alma Post Office was located at 320 Missouri in 2009. A number of men are shown on the wooden sidewalk in front of the building and several men are shown on top of the roof over the sidewalk.
