This is a view of Schubert's Gun and Machine Shop at 401 Missouri Street, Alma, Kansas. It was constructed in the 1870s and is the last remaining frame building in the business district today. the people in the photo are Carl Schubert, his wife, Barbara, and their daughter, Mary, with an unidentified man at the far right. The Schubert family lived at the back of this building while operating the machine shop in the front. Today (2009) the building is owned by Keen Umbehr and serves as a law office.
