This photograph taken inside the lobby of the North American Hotel in Ottawa, Kansas shows race horse Maude Grattan. The owner of the North American S.L. Beck allowed a photograph to be taken in the lobby of the hotel of the horse that won the most money in races during the year and was trained in Ottawa, Kansas. The honor went to Maude Grattan owned by Fred W. Bennett of Quenemo, Kansas and trained by Lee Bowler. The filly know as the "Quenemo Beauty" took four first, two seconds and three thirds in the trotting field.
