Dear Sir

Your answer 11th inst was received.  I have looked the Book Through but formed no other

acount or description about this pipe with the  scalp locks exept that I mentioned in my last

 letter, which is in the front of the Book “List of Chromo-Lithograph Plates”   Plate 1 No 8

“Tall Bull” the owner of this pipe, according to Col Dodge is the same one that was killed by W.

F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) in that Battle.  A short acount is in Major Inmans Book “The Great Salt

Lake Trail” Page 412.  Compare the two Books.

On next page you will see “wherever the camped we found the print of a womens shoe” These

were the two women from the Saline Valley.

On Page 401 it says: “In the spring of 1879” this is a mistake it should be 1869, as shown in the

pages following.  I will send you the letters next week with explanation and map.
